Let Your Creativity Blossom with the Flower Show blanket

After staring at my four walls for over a year, I was ready for something fun and colorful commemorate my leaving the house and re-engaging in pre-COVID activities. Enter the Flower Show blanket. It has 36 large flowers and is just popping with color. I love that each flower is a different color combination, which guarantees I’ll stay interested and finish it.

Looking for a smaller project?

If you’re not ready to commit to a full blanket, start with just one block and make a pillow. I turned my design swatch into a 12” x 12” pillow cover.

The blanket shown above is the Summertime color story. There are two other color stories in the pattern, called Succulents and Spring Bouquet, shown as illustrations, below.

The yarn I used for this blanket is Jaggerspun, Mousam Falls, superwash. Jaggerspun is a yarn company in Maine, that has absolutely gorgeous colors, and the quality of their yarn is superb. The hardest part was down-selecting from their palette of 56 colors, which is why I ended up creating 3 different color stories.

About the Pattern

This pattern has full written instructions, and charts for those who prefer them. The pattern also gives access to my technique videos and to a special video for making a petal.

The blanket is a great travel project because it is worked in blocks, which are sewn together. Check out all the photos of Flower Show Blanket.
