Design Your own
There are so many possibilities for customizing this blanket by adding new block designs and embellishments. Make it look like your town by adding a Strip featuring things your Town is known for like: a lake, some landmark buildings, or your house and street. How about a holiday-specific blanket done up with decorations for Christmas or Halloween?
In this section we have guidelines for creating your own Block design.
Block Basics
Blocks should be worked in garter stitch. Stockinette and stitch patterns that combine knits, purls, yarn overs, etc on the same row do not match the row and stitch relationship or the texture of garter stitch.
In garter stitch, the height of 2 knitted rows equals the width of 1 st. And 2 knitted rows is called a ridge.
Block Sizes
Block width should be a multiple of 13 stitches (sts)/ridges, so these Block widths can be used: 13, 26, 39, 52, etc.
Block heights are 66 sts/ridges in the pattern. If you want to use a different Block height, all Blocks in a Strip should be that new height.
