Make a colorful town of buildings, carports, trees, lampposts, a sun, clouds and birds. This pattern has complete written instructions with some parts, such as windows and doors, charted. Detailed construction diagrams are provided to guide you through every step. The pattern includes 18 pages of photo tutorials for knitting techniques.
Knit this blanket in the yarn and colors shown or customize the colors. Make it your own by replacing some of the buildings with additional trees, garden blocks or carports. It’s easy!
The variety of building heights and widths, and roof variations, make this blanket look like a real town. There are lots of knitting techniques to enjoy and develop.
The primary techniques are: garter stitch, pu&k, intarsia with stranded colorwork (video here), and working small garter stitch pieces that are tacked on.
Also used are: sewing blocks together with mattress stitch (video here), short rows (roof with vertical stripes and the clouds, only), embroidery (Garden Block and birds)
