The blanket is worked in garter stitch using a bit of intarsia (windows of the camper only), short rows and some pick up and knit. Blocks are sewn into horizontal strips and then sashing is worked between strips and joined with a 3-needle BO. Borders are picked up and knitted on the edges.

Vintage Volkswagon bugs with hearts and flowers are fun to knit in a multitude of colors

This colorful blanket was designed to celebrate the time when these iconic cars were found everywhere because they were affordable to buy and drive. They were one of the few small cars available in the 60’s and 70’s.

Lovebug is worked in garter stitch blocks that use shaping, a bit of intarsia, short rows, and some pick up and knit. Flowers and hearts are knitted separately and tacked on to the front of the blanket. The white “sashing” between blocks is knitted so there is no sewing in this blanket other than tacking the flower and hearts to the front.
