INSPIRATION

Rivers originally appeared in Interweave Knits magazine, Fall, 2016. Interweave asked for designs inspired by the traditional Hudson Bay blanket and I gave them several of which they liked this one the best. Hudson Bay Company began producing a wool blanket with white background and simple stripes, in green, red, yellow and indigo in the 1700’s.

The construction of this blanket has been updated for the book to reduce the amount of seaming and improve the continuity of the colored eddies.
