Alternate Color Designs for Christmas Tree Lot

To experiment with colors for this blanket, see the the Supplemental Content (access code in the pattern) to download a coloring page to experiment with your own color ideas.

We chose a bright red, green and white to emphasize the cheerful Christmas theme. For a less seasonal blanket, work it in in many shades of green and blue-green, and yellow-greens, including darker, earthier shades of gold, olive, and tan.

Or work it from your stash making each block a unique color combination.

Bring some merry into your christmas

The blanket is worked in horizontal strips and sewn together. This is plain garter stitch knitting at its best and easiest, with only simple decreases and some pick up and knit. You’ll master this in one sitting and won’t have to refer to the pattern after that.

Valley Yarns, Valley Superwash, worsted is quality, affordable worsted yarn that comes in the great colors shown in this blanket, and many, many more.

INSPIRATION

The inspiration for this blanket is Christmas Tree shopping! When our kids were little we got our tree from “Buck’s” lot, just a few blocks away, that had a bounce house, decorations and lights, games, and somebody capering about in a Santa suit. I admit I’ve never gone to a farm and cut a tree, but those people in the photo below sure make it look like fun!
